Tax Credit Cuts

On Tuesday the UK Government introduced tax credit changes that will mean drastic cuts to the income of 3 million families in low-paid work across the UK, almost 200,000 in Scotland. These changes were first announced in the Chancellor's Budget in July. 

The SNP group voted against these damaging cuts which hurt the working poor and increase inequality right across the UK. Tuesday's debate can be read here:
